Last night was my friends Christmas sweater party, which I will post some pictures of once they hit the internet. And I already know that they are terrible pictures because my friend the photographer thinks it is fun to zoom in extra close and take them from the most unflattering angles. But it was an all around good night.
My friend Danielle and I went together dressed in full with our ugly sweaters. We started drinking as soon as we got there. Do you ever get in those uncomfortable social situations where if you don’t drink with these people then you won’t know what to do with yourself the whole night. Like we have hungout with them sober before obviously, but it is definitely a lot less awkard when you can get intoxicated and making a fool of yourself is a lot less embarrassing. Besides, by the end of the night everyone with the exception of the straightedgers are pretty drunk and or high so everyone is acting foolish. Which is awesome and hilarious. So anyway, last night we got to our friend Dave’s apartment and found out that mostly everyone was coming later because there was a show with one of our friends bands playing. So there were only about 7 of us there to start thank goodness one of our best friends was there with a couple of her friends already, so it was a bit less awkward for us.
People quickly started coming and getting into little groups and listening to music and talking. It started getting really good and then all the people from the show came and it was actually even better. There were tons of people, most were very intoxicated. There was one point when someone was at the door so I answered it with my friend Hayley and we were like “Heeyyyyy….oh” Because we realized it was the super. So that was the only time that really there was a damper on the party.
It was great seeing some people that I don’t usually get to see and catching up and just really hanging out with them. Maybe that sounds stupid because hanging out is so common but these are people that I don’t get to see on a regular basis so it is always nice to see them and listen to their stories and hear about their lives. By the end of the party Danielle and I were so exhausted and I was so hungry that we left and made our way over to the Ginos Pizza where there was a massive crowd of people getting pizza. We managed to talk to some of them and that was fun. And there was one girl that looked like Cameron Diaz and we told her and she said that she got that all the time and we were like well that’s very good because she’s gorgeous. And as we were saying all this my heel on my right shoe snapped off. And I was telling her that it was funny because it was like in that movie with Cameron Diaz - In Her Shoes. Thank goodness for the pizza guy at Ginos and his duct tape because it actually didn’t fix my heel but it was even more hilarious that he thought it would and that we were anticipating it to be completely fixed.
The cab ride home was a great one also, we had a nice cab driver who told us about his family and Christmas and gave us a flat rate which was also super awesome. So overall the night was interesting and nice to catch up and see people one last time before I leave to Calgary. And now it is 1:08pm and I am sitting up in my room on my bed wishing that Sunset Grill (The breakfast restaurant near me) delivered because I don’t have a car and I definitely need breakfast, and making something doesn’t really fit into my equation right now.
